Resolving conflicts permanently and directly with the opponent — and the help of a mediator — instead of a relying on a third party, that is the basic notion of mediation.

Mediation can be and is used successfully in many areas of the law — in corporate law: for disputes between shareholders; in inheritance law: for conflicts among heirs; in family law: to resolve disputes between spouses and with children: even in insolvency law, mediation is used to an increasing extent to avoid insolvency proceedings. Mediation is also playing an increasingly important role in cross-border economic matters, where cultural sensitivity and understanding for both parties to the conflict is required.

Conflict resolution by trained mediators

Several of our lawyers at dmp Rechtsanwälte are also trained mediators and offer this voluntary form of conflict resolution as a service, particularly in the field of commercial and insolvency law.
